Dr. Kevin Chiarot’s Reformed Academy course is an exposition of the apostle Peter’s first letter to the suffering Christians scattered throughout Asia Minor. Rich in theology and practical in concrete wisdom, this epistle has been called “a condensed resume of the faith.” As such, it provides a fundamental orientation for Christian existence and Christian ethics. Peter sees the church as earthly sojourners with a heavenly inheritance and hope. Out of such a framework, he prescribes an “exilic ethic” of sober and comprehensive engagement with the world.
Kevin Chiarot is the pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Rock Tavern, NY. He has a B.S. in Engineering from Villanova University, an M.A. in Theology from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen in Systematic Theology. He is the author of Shepherding the Wind: Sermons in Ecclesiastes, and The Unassumed Is the Unhealed: The Humanity of Christ in the Theology of T. F. Torrance. He and his wife, Cheryl, have six children and nine grandchildren.
